Application runs on Windows 10, yet utilizes Java 6 which was end-of-life in 2013 prior to Windows 10 being released. This application stores information in a PostGreSQL 9.4 database, which has been end-of-life for several years. The use of unpatchable/end-of-life software on the medical device handling patient information makes it non-HIPAA compliant, however, the vendor states they cannot update due to FDA licensing (the FDA actually encourages medical device vendors to update their software and be secure, we suspect that Hologic, Inc. simply doesn't want to risk costs associated with relicensing requirements to update Java and SQL). UAC and local admin rights status for this application are currently unknown. This applications comes preinstalled on a vendor provider workstation this way.
